Hal Lotterman (1920-1995)

Hiro Fine Art is interested in purchasing artwork by Hal Lotterman.

Hal Lotterman was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1920 and studied at the University of Illinois and the University of Iowa. He received his BFA and MFA and showed incredible talent as a student. While a student, Lotterman won several awards for his artworks which were created in different mediums. He had a solo exhibition at the Butler Institute of Art and lived in New York City for several years and began experimenting with total abstraction. He exhibited his work at the Harry Spelter Gallery and began to achieve recognition on a national level for his art. His work can be found in several important public collections including the National Academy of Design in New York; Pennsylvania Academy in Philadelphia; Corcoran Gallery in Washington, D.C. ; Baltimore Museum; Carnegie Institute in Pittsburgh; Metropolitan Museum in New York; Virginia Museum in Richmond; and the California Palace of the Legion of Honor in San Francisco.
