Ernest Alexander (1892-1972)

Hiro Fine Art is interested in purchasing artworks by Ernest Alexander.

Ernest Alexander was a self taught African American artist who lived in Chicago, Illinois. He participated in several different exhibitions in Chicago at Illinois State Museum and University of Illinois Chicago Art Museum. His artistic talents extended to literature when he created a beautiful line drawing of the author Gwendolyn Brooks for her book “Annie Allen.” The drawing was featured on the frontispiece and back cover of the Pulitzer Prize winning book.
