Hiro Fine Art is interested in purchasing artworks by Howard Sivertson.

Howard Sivertson was born in 1930 in Duluth, Minnesota. He grew up spending most of his summers on Isle Royale and helping his father with his fishing business.

Sivertson attended the Minneapolis School of Art in 1950 and graduated. After graduation, Sivertson looked for a job in the arts and due to his impending draft status for the war, no companies would hire him. When he was drafted and about board a boat in Hawaii to go to war, an officer went to the line and asked if anyone knew what a t-square drafting tool was and Sivertson was the only person who did. The officer took him out of line and hired him to be the Navy cartoonist. He created comic strips that were used for promotional purposes.

After working for the Navy, Sivertson moved back to Minnesota and taught at the University of Minnesota, Duluth as well as working for different advertising agencies. After his children grew old, he spent the majority of his time painting and eventually opened a gallery in Grand Marais to showcase his work as well as his daughters.
